Cover crop & finishing practices
These cattle are used in our Organic farming practices. Every other year, each field is planted to a mix of cover crops, intended to replenish and rebuild the soil. The cattle are rotationally grazed on the cover crop during the spring and summer. This grazing allows for the nutrients from the cover crop to be returned back to the soil in a highly effective manner. We hand select only the best cattle to enter our finish program where they are fed a diet of hay and and ground garbanzo beans grown right here on the Palouse. The garbanzo beans add significant nutrition to the cattle and flavor to the beef.
